Newest San Diego area casino hotel – Viejas Resort

The Viejas casino has been around for years and has gotten better each year, adding table games, great places to eat, entertainment and outlet shopping. Now, they have added a 5 star resort hotel. We stayed there the week after it opened and loved it. If you are an Indian gaming fan but don’t like to drive home late, think about staying overnight here instead.

We ate at the casino’s Grove Steakhouse and got first class food, drink and service. There is nothing else like it in east county San Diego. In the casino it looks like Las Vegas. Gone are the days of Indian bingo tents. The 99 luxury hotel rooms are high-end, and another 29 VIP suites will satisfy any high roller. The pool includes places to relax half in the water, half on pool lounges. Great for hot summer days.

If you haven’t been out to Viejas for a while, it is time you made a visit.

Swim with the Fishes at The Florida Aquarium in Tampa Bay is an in-water reef adventure that gives you the opportunity to encounter one of the Florida Keys most beautiful coral reef dive sites without being a certified SCUBA diver

  You will wear a small SCUBA tank, regulator and flotation device that keeps you on the surface. Experience the thrill of SCUBA diving from the surface, while enjoying all of the sights below. 

Swim with the Fishes provides a unique experience, especially for kids, which introduces the basic concepts of SCUBA and shows the beauty of Florida’s aquatic environments through the exhibit.

The Coral Reefs Gallery simulates a 60 foot dive modeled after an actual dive site in the Dry Tortugas near Key West, Florida. In this 500,000 gallon tank, you will see a reef that is the base for a vibrant community of live animals that includes more than 2,000 animals, representing about 65 species, all native to Florida.

There will be 2 dive masters in the water with the group at all times. All dive team members are CPR, first aid and emergency oxygen trained.

Advanced reservations are required to participate in the Swim with the Fishes program, it is not available to book on the day.
