A holiday parade is happening in Pacific Beach!

Saturday, Dec. 15, 2012 1pm to 4pm.

Come early so you can find a place along the
street to see it all, FREE. The parade features floats, marching bands, color guards, community
groups, children marching groups, clowns, and of course; Santa Claus.

San Diego Gaslamp District Thanksgiving Dinner

Three of the best restaurants in San Diego’s downtown Gaslamp District have put out their Thanksgiving menus:

    Some of the most interesting items on the various menus include:

    Roasted butternut squash soup with creme Francine, cranberries and roasted hazelnuts.

    Baked Mac N Cheese topped with apple-wood smoked bacon

    Pumpkin filled ravioli in a sage-butter sauce topped  amaretto cookie crumbs

    Veal shank slowly braised with red wine and diced vegetable served over  bed of saffron risotto.

    Pumpkin rum, raisin gelato topped with roasted hazelnuts.

    Look for other selection on each menu. Each restaurant also has a special children’s menu.

     

The Haunted Hotel (28-Day Event) Downtown San Diego

The creaky door of the Haunted Hotel is opening and something inside is beckoning for you to
come in. Do you dare to step into a darkened basement where eerie sounds and ghosts
abound and where spiders and creepy creatures try to reach out to touch anything alive? Do
you dare to go inside? Admission: $15 (Sunday – Thursday) ~ $17 (Friday & Saturday).

This year’s event features spectacular dance and musical performances from local artists, as well as popular entertainers directly from Brazil and from various cities in the United States.

As a free and family friendly celebration the festival always offers great activities, Brazilian food and entertainment for all ages. There are several artists, groups and dj’s direct from Brazil and all over the US performing at the “Aquarela do Brasil” and the “Latin Explosion” stages.

The parade will feature five amazing carnival floats entirely handmade from recycled material. Each one of them will have a cultural Brazilian theme. The parade starts at Dawes street and Garnet avenue in Pacific Beach at 3.30pm

will be playing at the
Adams Avenue Street Fair
on the 33rd Street Rock Stage from 8:30 to 10 P.M.
